Little Moreton Hall
Just 15 minutes drive away The National Trust’s Little Moreton Hall, Congleton, Cheshire, is an iconic Tudor manor house, moat and manicured knot garden.
Built to impress by craftsmen’s hands more than 500 years ago, the hall, with its crooked walls and uneven floors, may seem fragile but it’s a remarkable survivor.
Discover its story, and that of the people who lived here, the ritual protection marks scattered throughout the house, and why Little Moreton Hall may be the wonkiest house you’ll ever see. For directions Google Little Morton Hall, Newcastle Rd, Congleton CW12 4SD. Dogs are allowed in the grounds on a lead but can’t go past the moat around the Hall.

Mow Cop
Mow Cop Castle is a folly at Mow Cop in the civil parish of Odd Rode, Cheshire, England.
It is designated as a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England. The ridge, upon which the castle sits, forms the boundary between the counties of Cheshire and Staffordshire, with fantastic views!!
A great little 1hr hike to Mow Cop Castle from Kidsgrove Station or a 25 minute drive from No.24. Once you get through the town the path goes through some fields (with amazing views across Cheshire behind) and along a little rocky trail all the way up to the castle. For the non walkers you can drive half way up.
Dog friendly.

Biddulph Grange & Botanical Garden
A masterpiece of Victorian garden design – a quirky, playful paradise.
Behind a gloomy Victorian shrubbery there’s a gloomy Victorian mansion, but behind that lurks one of the most extraordinary gardens in Britain…it contains whole continents, including China and Ancient Egypt – not to mention Italian terraces and a Scottish glen.
The rhododendrons and azaleas are spectacular in late spring, but the pinetum and the evergreen topiary provide year-round interest. It’s a fantastic garden for children, with its tunnels and rockeries, and there is a children’s quiz trail. Not dog friendly but Biddulph Grange Country Park next to it is.
